Introduction
The Master’s Degree in Corporate Event Organisation and Management (MODEC), and the two programmes that form it, that is, University Specialist in Corporate Event Organisation and y University Specialist in Corporate Event Management, address university graduates interested in the business tourism and corporate event sectors.
The Escuela Universitaria de Turismo Felipe Moreno (EUTFM), appointed to the UIB, organises these programmes with an aim to respond to a specific demand of the tourist industry. Besides, the MODEC programme addresses an important training need within the context of the Balearics, an outstanding enclave within the European business tourism market, and home to major Spanish corporations with multinational activity
The three postgraduate courses integrated in the MODEC programme will provide the candidates with in-depth knowledge of the organizational peculiarities of major corporate such as congresses, conventions, trade fairs or incentive trips. The different modules will also deal with the organisation of gala dinners, cocktails, press conferences, etc.
All the above becomes possible thanks to the lecturing of a selected group of reputed professionals and university academics, who specialise in each of the issues covered by the programme. Additionally, the programme includes outings to the headquarters leading business tourism actors on the island and inspection visits to venues specialised in business tourism. Master classes and talks offered by invited key speakers complete the programme.
